The Blues are undefeated in their group after a win and a draw from the opening two matches, and Frank Lampard’s side will be hoping to give their qualification chances as a major boost with victory against their French counterparts.
Rennes have made a disappointing start to their European venture, picking up just one point from their two matches so far. Managed by Julien Stéphan, they will come up against a familiar face in Chelsea goalkeeper Edouard Mendy, who was a summer signing from the Brittany-based club.
