Chelsea consider shock move for Nelson Semedo

Chelsea are pondering a move for Wolverhampton Wanderers right-back Nelson Semedo.

That is according to journalist Simon Phillips, who has informed GIVEMESPORT of the Blues’ interest in the star, amidst their depth issues in the full-back area with Reece James’ injury.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, Phillips said: “Chelsea also like Nelson Semedo from Wolves and are considering him as an option to come in to give competition for Reece James.”

Shock target, right idea

Semedo’s links to Chelsea may come as a bit of a surprise to Blues fans, despite the fact that club are indeed seeking cover in the full-back area.

The 28-year-old Portugal international is an astute pick for Chelsea, though his lack of game time at Molineux is what makes his inclusion in the west London side’s list of targets somewhat of a surprise.

From Wolves’ 13 Premier League games, Semedo has started just six of those and finds himself in and out of the squad at current.

His last outing against Brentford over the weekend saw Semedo demonstrate is attacking poise, earning an assist for Ruben Neves’ goal.

The ex-Barcelona man’s spell in the midlands has not been as prosperous as he might have hoped, and you would think that the lure of west London to play for an ambitious Chelsea side would be tempting enough for the star.

A move for the £37million star could prove to be a Graham Potter masterclass, for an otherwise underrated player.
