Insider shares update on “priority” duo who are “likely transfers”
Chelsea are likely to sign both Christopher Nkunku and Arsen Zakharyan ahead of next season.
What’s the word?
That is according to transfer insider Dean Jones, who expects both players to finalise deals to move to Stamford Bridge.
Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, Jones said: “What we know is the Nkunku deal is being pushed through, there’s also the deal for Zakharyan that is being viewed as a priority. So those two are good and likely transfers that will happen, anything else I think is going to probably rely on some players moving out first.”
Much-needed
Quite frankly, both players are needed at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea currently rank as the seventh-lowest scoring team in the Premier League, having managed just 17 goals this season.
To put that into perspective, Nkunku has scored that total on his own in all competitions so far this season for RB Leipzig, so the evidence behind his potential impact at the club essentially writes itself.
A prospective signing that not many may have heard of, though, is Dynamo Moscow star Zakharyan.
Leading the assists charts for the Russian outfit, the 19-year-old has asserted himself as Dynamo’s most creative asset, pulling the strings in midfield with an average of 33.3 accurate passes per 90 and tuning in creatively with 43 chances created.
For additional context, Chelsea’s top creator this season has been Raheem Sterling, who has created 18 chances for the Blues so far.
That total is 25 less than the 19-year-old Russia international, so like Nkunku, his possible arrival appears much-needed to help reinvigorate this stale Chelsea side.
Both prospectove coups have the potential to be game-changing for Graham Potter’s squad.
