Liam Rosenior linked with Premier League club after Chelsea sacking

Share

It would be safe to say that Liam Rosenior’s time as manager of Chelsea was a major disappointment. BlueCo must have thought they knew what they were getting with the Englishman, as he joined the club after spending a season-and-a-half managing Strasboug. But unfortunately, it looks like the management did not foresee the impact such a jump in levels would have on the coach.

Rosenior never appeared to get a grip on things at Chelsea. Even when they won some of those early games, it was largely due to moments of individual brilliance rather than impressive team performances.

And when things eventually went wrong, they never looked up again. Rosenior’s Chelsea team lost five games in a row in the Premier League without scoring a goal before he was sacked.

Rosenior’s reputation took a major hit based on his completely failed stint at Chelsea. But that might not stop one Premier League club from making a move for the Englishman.

Premier League club reportedly keen on Liam Rosenior

According to Football Insider, Rosenior could be handed an immediate return to the Premier League. Crystal Palace are keen on him.

Oliver Glasner is set to leave the club at the end of the season. And it looks like Crystal Palace have an eye on Rosenior as a replacement.

One has to remember, Rosenior was very highly regarded before he arrived at Chelsea. In fact, it is believed that he was wanted by multiple Premier League clubs, which is why the Blues decided to move sharply due to fears that a rival could get ahead of them and sign the manager.

What next for Rosenior after Chelsea flop?

Well, it would be safe to say that Chelsea would not have foreseen how things would go for Rosenior at the club. He is a very likeable guy though. We would only like to wish him the best in his next chapter.

Will that be in the Premier League? Time shall tell. A return to France might not be the worst idea for him. He remains highly regarded there despite his poor run at Chelsea.

Eventually, Rosenior should not have a tough time landing a job. Now, it is up to him to rebuild his managerial career.

As for Chelsea, they continue to search for their next manager as well. The likes of Andoni Iraola, Cesc Fabregas and a few others are being linked with the post.
