Chelsea find themselves in a tough situation right now. They are without a long-term manager after sacking Liam Rosenior. There are question marks over the future of a number of their senior players as well, many of whom might be seeking exits with the Blues struggling to compete for trophies and missing out on Champions League football.
Of course, Chelsea are not the only London club who have had a poor season. In fact, it has been much worse for some of their city rivals. And it might very well be a direct race between West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur to avoid finishing in that 18th spot, which would mean relegation from the Premier League.
Chelsea might end up having a say in that race as they are still to face Tottenham Hotspur. It is hard to predict that matchup considering how badly both have struggled in recent times.
On the other hand, it looks like West Ham United are keeping an eye on one of Chelsea’s players. Of course, any move will most likely depend on whether they are successful in avoiding relegation or not.
West Ham United eyeing move for Nicolas Jackson
According to Indykaila News, West Ham United are making moves for Nicolas Jackson. The situation is one to watch.
Jackson is set to make a return to Chelsea this summer after spending the season out on loan at Bayern Munich. Unsurprisingly, he was the backup to Harry Kane. And the Bavarians have decided they will not be meeting the option to buy, believed to be around €65 million.
Many believe that Chelsea should reintegrate Jackson into the first-team. He was a solid player during his two seasons at Stamford Bridge.
While his finishing often let him down, he scored 30 goals across those two seasons. That is significantly better in terms of output when compared to Liam Delap, who has managed to find the back of the net just three times in 43 appearances for the Blues.
Will Nicolas Jackson stay at Chelsea or leave?
It is safe to say that Jackson is a talented striker. His overall quality is fantastic and if he can add goals to his game, he has the potential to end up in the world-class category. That is how good he is in the other phases of the game.
Jackson is one of those strikers who makes those around him better. So, it is no surprise clubs like West Ham United are keeping an eye on him.
Personally, I would like to see Jackson remain at Chelsea. It will be interesting to see whether he has improved in front of goal after spending a season with Harry Kane.
