Chelsea make enquiry about signing Real Madrid forward

Share

Chelsea could do with a few more goalscorers right now. The club have not scored in their last five Premier League outings, all of which ended in losses. That is their worst run of form since 1912, more than a century ago. That is how historically bad the Blues are right now when it comes to finding the back of the net. They will be looking to end that run against Nottingham Forest.

So, do not be surprised if Chelsea look to add a few forwards to their squad in the summer transfer window. One from Real Madrid appears to be on their radar. But a move probably is not on the cards.

Chelsea have been signing some of the best youngsters in the world since the BlueCo takeover. One player they missed out on is Endrick, who decided to join Real Madrid.

But his time at Real Madrid has not gone as expected. He currently finds himself out on loan at Lyon. And according to TEAMtalk, Chelsea as well as Arsenal made enquiries over Endrick’s availability in recent weeks. They have already gotten their answer.

Real Madrid inform Chelsea and Arsenal about Endrick plans

Things might not have worked out for Endrick right out of the gates at Real Madrid. But that does not mean they won’t eventually.

He has been excellent for Lyon, scoring 7 goals and 7 assists in 18 games. And it looks like that has been enough to convince Real Madrid about his future.

According to the same report, Real Madrid have informed both Chelsea and Arsenal that Endrick will be returning to the Bernabeu. The Brazilian forward is firmly part of their first-team plans for next season.

Chelsea’s pursuit of Xabi Alonso would have derailed any Endrick move

Let’s remember that Chelsea will need a new manager this summer. And this time around, they need to make sure that their transfer business goes through him, not the think-tank that has not gotten much right over the past four years.

If Alonso does end up getting the Chelsea job, it is hard to imagine that he would want Endrick as one of his first signings. The Spaniard could not find a place for him in his plans at Real Madrid, which is why he had to leave on loan to Lyon in the first place.

Anyways, it is believed that Endrick wants to stay at Real Madrid and fight for his place at the club. So, this is a transfer story that is headed nowhere. Chelsea will have to move their sights elsewhere and look to sign a different forward or two.
