Chelsea Malaysia Ticket Deadline Gives Xabi Alonso Final Pre-Season Marker

Chelsea supporters have one final administrative deadline before the club’s reshaped 2026 pre-season tour reaches its decisive phase.

The Blues have moved their friendly against Johor Darul Ta’zim in Malaysia from Tuesday 11 August to Sunday 9 August. The match will still kick off at 8pm local time at Sultan Ibrahim Stadium.

Existing tickets remain valid for the new date. However, supporters who cannot attend must submit refund requests before 30 June.

ReadChelsea recently examined how Chelsea’s compressed pre-season schedule creates an early workload challenge for Xabi Alonso.

Alonso Tour Plan Now Carries A Supporter Deadline

The fixture change matters beyond diary management.

Chelsea already face a tight summer because of the 2026 World Cup, staggered player returns and Alonso’s need to build rhythm quickly. Moving the Malaysia fixture forward gives the squad an earlier final tour marker before the last stretch of preparation.

For supporters, the refund process now becomes the key detail. Fans who cannot attend on the new date must email [email protected] with their booking details before 30 June.

Chelsea say eligible refunds will cover the full ticket face value and the convenience fee. The club expects payments to take between seven and 14 working days.

That creates a firm deadline for travelling supporters who planned flights and accommodation around the original date.

From a football perspective, Alonso now gets a slightly earlier final tour fixture before Chelsea return home. That matters with senior players due back in stages after the World Cup.

Reece James will be central to that process. As captain, he can help reconnect the group quickly once the main squad starts to come back together.

ReadChelsea has already highlighted how the wider pre-season schedule leaves Alonso with little margin for error. This latest update sharpens the supporter-facing side of the same story.

Chelsea’s summer is moving quickly, and supporters now have one last window to adjust their plans.
