Chelsea Women Champions League fixtures confirmed as Lyon trip comes early

Chelsea Women now have a full Champions League schedule. UEFA finalised the six-fixture league-phase schedule on Saturday. It confirms Friday’s draw in detail. As of 2 October, Chelsea know exactly who they face this season, and where.

The update follows a 6-2 aggregate win over Real Sociedad, which secured Chelsea’s place in an expanded 18-team league phase. Friday’s draw gave them three home fixtures and three away trips. Every home game lands at Plough Lane, not Stamford Bridge.

How Chelsea Women reached the league phase

Chelsea’s route to the league phase ran through a two-legged play-off against Real Sociedad. The Blues won 6-2 on aggregate. It was a comfortable passage, and the scoreline showed the gap between a WSL title contender and a side still building towards that level.

That win earned Chelsea one of 18 places in the Champions League’s new league phase. The format replaced the old group stage with a single, larger table. Saturday’s confirmation closed out a process that began weeks earlier with the Real Sociedad tie.

Chelsea Women UEFA Women’s Champions League fixture list

UEFA’s draw on Friday gave Chelsea three home matches and three away fixtures, and the governing body confirmed the full schedule a day later. Supporters now have a clear picture of the campaign ahead.

All three home fixtures will be played at Plough Lane. Chelsea host Austria Wien, Roma and Paris Saint-Germain there. Away from home, they travel to OL Lyonnes, BK Häcken and OH Leuven. That completes the Chelsea Women Champions League fixture list, though two dates remain outstanding.

UEFA has confirmed kick-off dates for the Austria Wien, Paris Saint-Germain, OL Lyonnes and BK Häcken matches. Dates for the Roma fixture at Plough Lane, and for the trip to OH Leuven, have not yet been released.

What happens next

Chelsea’s build-up has continued under modest domestic form. They were held to a 1-1 draw by Aston Villa in their most recent WSL outing. It was a reminder that results won’t come easily this season, Champions League draw or not.

The Blues’ next league assignment is a trip to face Arsenal, and our earlier report covers how to watch that fixture. The Champions League schedule itself followed Friday’s draw, as detailed in our original fixture confirmation report.

Roma and OH Leuven still await dates. UEFA is expected to release the remaining details in the coming weeks. Until then, Chelsea’s focus returns to the WSL, where a response to the Villa draw is overdue.
