The Xabi Alonso to Chelsea situation has certainly heated up over the last few days. One has to wonder if this is a sign that a move is getting close or at least closer. Or is it just media noise? Well, considering the number of reliable outlets and sources that have confirmed the rumour, one […]
After all the talk regarding the Xabi Alonso situation over the last 48 hours or so, it would be a disappointment to most fans if an appointment did not end up taking place. But you never know in football. We have seen top-level managers being heavily linked with Chelsea in the past, only for things […]
Xabi Alonso seems to be the preferred choice for Chelsea for their managerial post this summer. The club have failed to make the right appointment since the BlueCo takeover. Thomas Tuchel was sacked right after the 2022 summer transfer window closed and it has been one wrong decision after another since then. Graham Potter and […]
Xabi Alonso has emerged as the outright favourite to become the next Chelsea manager over the past couple of days. It looks like Liverpool want to stick with Arne Slot for the time being. Manchester United are closing in on appointing Michael Carrick permanently. And if Pep Guardiola leaves Man City, Enzo Maresca is the […]
Chelsea will be going into the FA Cup final knowing that they are underdogs. They have been here before though. In fact, the last time they managed to get the better of Manchester City was in the Champions League back in 2021. Thomas Tuchel was the manager. Kai Havertz scored the winner. BlueCo did not […]
News broke out yesterday, which suggested that Xabi Alonso wanted Chelsea to sign two centre-backs this summer if he were to become the manager of the club. That is understandable considering how poor the Blues have been defensively this season in the absence of Levi Colwill, who had suffered an ACL injury in pre-season. Colwill […]
The Xabi Alonso rumours have managed to pick up some serious momentum over the past couple of days. All the fingers are starting to point in that direction. Unless something concrete was not going on behind the scenes, one would not think that the most reliable voices in football journalism would back up the speculation […]
It is very clear that Chelsea need to strengthen their defence. In fact, some reports have come out today suggesting that one of the things Xabi Alonso would like to see the club do this summer, if he takes the managerial job, is bring in two centre-backs. That makes sense, considering how poor the Blues […]
There is no secret that Chelsea fans would like to see Xabi Alonso get the job as the next manager of the club. Out of the options that have been linked with the job, he feels like the most reliable one. The Spaniard was a top-level player himself. That means that it could help him […]
Whoever Chelsea end up appointing as their next manager, one of their first tasks would be to get Cole Palmer back to his best. The Englishman has looked like a shadow of himself. Of course, frequent fitness issues have played a part. One can only wonder if his groin problem continues to bother him or […]
From everything that we have read and heard over the past 24 hours, it feels like Xabi Alonso is clearly the man that Chelsea want to be their next manager. Obviously, nobody has come out and directly said that. There is still a possibility that they could miss out. That would be a bad look […]
Over the last 24 hours, the Chelsea news cycle seems to have revolved around one name. Xabi Alonso. For the past few weeks, all the talk has been of the club having multiple candidates for the post. But it is hard not to feel that the other two, Andoni Iraola and Marco Silva, have fallen […]
