Former Chelsea favourite has today spoken very highly on the current crop of Chelsea players, as well as their manager.
Speaking on Sky Sports News HQ, Zola said Chelsea fully deserved the Premier League trophy this season. The Italian quoted: “Without doubt I can say that Chelsea deserved to win the league, they have been dominant this year.”
Zola complimented Jose Mourinho and the style of football that blew teams away during the first half of the season. Zola said: “The football they have played during the first half of the season was exceptional,”
Zola who was known for his flair and skill during his time at Stamford Bridge, revealed he is a big fan of Chelsea’s latest wing wizard, Eden Hazard. Zola had this to say about the PFA Player of the Season: “I’m a big fan of his, he’s one of those players you would pay to see even if you don’t support Chelsea. He makes the game very spectacular”.
The comparison between Zola and Hazard was also discussed, the former Blue was quick to admit they share similarities: ” we have very good similarities – we are very good at beating our men in a one versus one situation, that was a very good part of my game.”
