Abdul Rahman Baba’s agent has moved swiftly to squash reports that his client rejected the chance to move to the Premier League champions, Chelsea according to David Wright of the Express.
Last week, reports surfaced that Augsburg left-back, turned down the chance to make a £10m switch to West London, because he didn’t feel Jose Mourinho could give him enough playing time.
However, the 20-year-old’s agent, Sascha Empacher, has insisted that these rumours are false, and a decision hasn’t been made.
When he was spoken to, the agent revealed that plenty of European teams, including Arsenal and Roma are keen on signing the Bundesliga defender.
When asked if the reports about rejecting the Chelsea move were true, Empacher said:
“No, that’s not true. It is the classic example of bad investigative journalism.
“Many big European clubs are interested in Baba, but they do not want to be named. Do Augsburg want €18-20m (£12.5m-14m)? Yes, that is correct.
“There is a lot of competition for the player. If a side is interested, then they have to make an offer to the club.”
