Mohamed Salah has finally managed to agree a deal to leave Stamford Bridge after a short and largely unsuccessful spell with the Blues.
Anthony Chapman of The Express reports that despite having a deal in place with Fiorentina, Salah will be joining their Serie A rivals Inter Milan. Inter are looking for attacking options as they push to return to the top of Italian football and rival Juventus for the Scudetto.
Salah received winners’ medals for Chelsea’s 2014/15 League Cup and Premier League successes but contributed very little to them, having only made 13 domestic appearances for the club since his arrival.
His loan to La Violeta was agreed in February as part of the deal to bring Juan Cuadrado to the Premier League. Salah made 10 appearances in Serie A in his brief spell in Florence, scoring 6 goals and assisting a further 3 – an impressive record in a new league.
The Egyptian international has caused somewhat of a stir by agreeing a deal with Inter – where he looks set to replace the Swiss Xherdan Shaqiri – as Fiorentina insist that he has broken a deal which was made to keep him at the club for the upcoming season. The club’s lawyers are now investigating the situation as Salah refused to attend pre-season training.
