Chelsea youngster Joins Gillingham

Chelsea FC official website have confirmed that Jordan Houghton has joined Gillingham until January 3rd.

The 19-year-old midfielder was the captain of the Chelsea under 21’s successful campaign last season and has now moved into the mens game. His first spell at senior level will see him turn out for Gillingham in Sky Bet League One.

After sealing the England U20 internationals signature, boss Justin Edinburgh said to Gillingham FC official website:

“I’m really pleased Jordan has chosen to join us until January.

“He chose us over a number of other clubs and I’m pleased to have secured the signing.

“He is a very hungry young player who has had an excellent grounding at Chelsea; he won the Youth Cup the season before last, playing an integral part in the process, and has represented his country at three different age groups.

“He is a terrific addition to our squad and I look forward to working with him”
