As if Chelsea fans needed another reminder of club legend Frank Lampard’s goal against the Blues last season, it has earned the Englishman a world record.
The current New York City FC midfielder joined 2014/15 defending champion Manchester City on a short-term deal last season and scored his first goal in light blue against his former side.
The goal broke former Manchester United striker Andy Cole’s record for goals scored against the most Premier League clubs.

Chelsea, the club where Lampard is the all-time leading goal-scorer, became Premier League victim no. 39 for Lampard.
“It was a weird feeling when I scored. But it did get me the record so I am also very happy with the goal.”

Lampard joins his former boss, Jose Mourinho, in the Guinness World Records. The Portuguese received four records to his name.
The records will be recorded in the Guinness Book of World Records on the 10th of September.
