Chelsea stand-in goalkeeper Asmir Begovic has revealed that there is only one thing keeping him comfortable at Stamford Bridge – he believes he has the best manager in the world.
According to Mark Ogden of The Telegraph, the Bosnia-Herzegovina number one is still happy, despite Chelsea’s woeful start to the Premier League season.
The defending English champions are currently in 16th place in the league, four points off the relegation zone and level with newly-promoted Bournemouth. Reading up the table, Liverpool have four more points and Crystal Palace are seven points ahead, whilst 3rd and 2nd-placed United and Arsenal have twice Chelsea’s 8 points. Current leaders Manchester City lead the pack and are already and astonishing ten points ahead of Mourinho’s Blues.
The Blues may be what Mourinho has at the moment, given where his side lies – but his current goalkeeper is not worried. Begovic said:
We have the best manager in the world. We believe in him and he believes in us, so we will turn things around.

Next up for Chelsea are Aston Villa on Saturday afternoon, in a game which all Chelsea fans will be expecting three points from – surely the side can’t slip up even further? Begovic is looking at the situation pragmatically:
There are so many factors that go into these things it is impossible to pinpoint one. They accumulate and things snowball against you.
It is difficult. We know we need to analyse things and look at ourselves, each and every one of us. As we improve individually we can improve collectively as well.
He is currently in goal for Chelsea as Thibaut Courtois fights to recover from a lengthy knee injury; the Bosnian goalkeeper will be between the sticks for the Blues for a while yet – and he’s optimistic he can help turn things around:
It’s a long season, we know in football these things happen, even to the best teams, we need to keep fighting and hopefully things will turn for us – our performances and our luck.
