What we learnt: Dynamo Kyiv (H)

All of the pre-match speculation focused around Jose Mourinho’s position as the manager of Chelsea Football Club. Rumour were that if Chelsea lost their next two games he’d be gone.

Well, tonight was the first instalment of those two crucial fixtures, with Chelsea taking all three points in a 2-1 victory. The result was far from comfortable however as confidence is obviously at rock-bottom after such an abysmal start to the current campaign. None the less, The Blues played some of their better football of the season with fast-flowing passing and pace, two key components to their game.

The first goal came as a result of an own goal as Willian fizzed the ball across the penalty area and Dragovic headed into his own net. In the second half, Chelsea became quite nervous and their lack of confidence became extremely noticeable. Dragovic made up for his earlier error and equalised for Kyiv, scrambling home from a corner. Willian scored the winner with a beautiful free-kick from 25-yards out to give Chelsea the win.
