Ex-Arsenal and Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas has nailed his colours to the mast and declared that he is firmly behind current Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho.
With John Terry already having publicly backed the struggling Chelsea manager, Fabregas has joined the party, as the Blues look to put what has been a difficult spell behind them.
Chelsea sit in 16th place in the Premier League at the moment, having won only 11 points from 12 games; with seven of those 12 being losses. Newly promoted Norwich City and Watford both sit above the defending champions in the current table, but Fabregas is standing by his manager:
I am the first to defend our manager tooth and nail from the first minute when some began to doubt and I will continue to do so. The manager has helped me a lot in the year and a half I have been at Chelsea and I will always be grateful to him.
This comes after speculation that the Spanish midfielder had started a dressing room mutiny against Mourinho, which Cesc has dismissed as outright lies.
The only thing I want is for the team to be strong, to keep winning and to get better, because right now we are not going through a great moment.
Chelsea’s next three fixtures are Norwich City (H), Maccabi Tel-Aviv (A) and Tottenham Hotspur (A).
