Diego Costa is unlikely to leave Chelsea in January to return to Atletico Madrid as the President of the Spanish side a deal would “complicated”, according to the Standard.
The Spanish international has been desperately out of form this season and after a number of reported arguments with Jose Mourinho, the 27-year-old has been linked with a return to the Vincente Calderon.
Despite spending four years in the Spanish capital, Enrique Cerezo has played down the rumours, saying:
It’s complicated for Atletico to make signings this winter.

While Costa’s possesses undoubted quality, the continued petulance on and off the field has seen Chelsea fans and Mourinho begin to lose their faith in last year’s top scorer.
After a notably improved effort against Porto in the Champions League, reporters asked about the rumours and Costa said:
You never know, look where Filipe Luis is now. Life is full of surprises.
Costa and Luis joined Chelsea together just last summer, but Luis returned after a year. With Diego Simeone having the likes of Antoine Griezmann, Jackson Martinez and former Chelsea striker Fernando Torres to choose from, a return does seem unlikely and time will tell whether Costa’s Chelsea career will be cut short.
