What we learnt: Stoke City (H)

Chelsea Football Club had their three-game winning streak in the Premier League ended this afternoon by Stoke City when the two sides drew 1-1 at Stamford Bridge.

The game was just about even in the first half until a brilliant goal from Bertrand Traore gave the home side the advantage.

The second half was an open battle, and it was in the 84th minute that Mame Biram Diouf equalised for Stoke after some questionable goalkeeping from Thibaut Courtois. After 94 minutes, the two sides remained level and the points were to be shared.

The draw came at a bad time for Chelsea, who were hitting great form in the league as they began to climb back up the table. Without a doubt, today’s result may see them drop a few places down by the time all is said and done with match-week 29 tomorrow afternoon.

Here’s what I learnt from today’s disappointing draw.

matchday.
