Juventus and Italy goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon selected two Chelsea players when creating his best current Barclays Premier League starting XI in an interview with Shortlist last week.
The Italian shot-stopper is easily one of the greatest goalkeepers to ever play the game, and he added to his legacy yesterday when he broke the Serie A record for minutes without conceding a goal by flawlessly protecting his net for a consecutive 973 minutes.
Buffon’s best Premier League XI is a 4-3-3 formation, and two Chelsea players were featured.
At left-back, he opted for Cesar Azpilicueta.

Buffon said:
Chelsea are not enjoying their best season, but this is another defender who you can always rely on to give you a good performance.
Later on, the goalkeeper presented his preferred strike-force, and Diego Costa was one of the three.

Regarding his pick of the controversial Spaniard, Buffon said:
He will upset people, but defenders hate to play against players like him – I have seen it so many times. He scores goals as well, you can’t argue with that.
While Chelsea Football Club as a whole has experienced a nightmare of a season, two of their players managed to find a spot in Buffon’s best Premier League lineup.
The full line-up selected is as follows:
Hart; Azpilicueta, Koscielny, Kompany, Zabaleta; Ozil, Silva, Cazorla; Kane, Costa, Aguero.
