Juventus could bid for ‘surplus’ Chelsea midfielder

With Antonio Conte taking over at Chelsea after the Italian leads his home country in this summer’s Euro 2016, he will be looking to shake things up in the Chelsea midfield. The man reportedly set to hit the butcher’s block: Oscar.

Suggestions are that he has been deemed a surplus to requirements by Conte and the Brazilian has once again been linked to a move with Juventus – a rumour that seemingly will never go away.

That is, until this summer – perhaps. The 24-year-old could fetch a transfer fee of €35 million from Conte’s former club, who could pay the Brazilian around €4 million per season to make the move to Turin.

This is Oscar’s fourth season with the club, and it has been rumoured that he’s resistant to moving out of west London.

Oscar spoke earlier in the week, in the aftermath of an underwhelming performance at the Liberty Stadium, on how to get back on track.

Everyone in the dressing room was unhappy because we played well. We had chances to score goals but we didn’t and when you lose it’s difficult.

We started well but when they scored they started to play better. We spoke in the dressing room at half-time and said we need to improve our game. In the second half we played well but if you don’t score a goal you don’t win the game.

We have six games left this season. We played well against Swansea but we didn’t win and now we have to focus on the next match because it’s very important for us. It will be a good game against Manchester City.

He then spoke of multiple players trying to impress their future manager, and how injuries have given the opportunity to some.

We had a lot of kids playing and people who haven’t played much this season were involved because we have a lot of injured players.

I try to play my best for Chelsea but it’s not just me, the whole team will try to win games to impress the new coach ahead of next season.

The writing is on the wall for the Brazilian. There are handful of reasons for Chelsea fans to want him gone. He hasn’t exactly done himself many favours in his make-or-break season. What do you think?
