Chelsea Football Club have made their first contact with Inter Milan over the possibility of signing Mauro Icardi before the transfer window closes, according to Calcio Mercato.
As talks with Everton to sign Romelu Lukaku have seemed to stall, Chelsea head coach Antonio Conte is seeking out other options in regards to bringing another striker into the club this summer.
Arsenal and Napoli are also rumoured to be interested in Icardi, but whilst Arsenal have yet to formally approach Inter Milan, Napoli have already fired away two options: €60million or €40million and striker Manolo Gabbiadini.

At the beginning of the transfer window, Icardi’s agent and wife Wanda Nara made it known that her husband will most likely be on the move this summer. However, it is nearly the middle of August, and the Argentinian remains an Inter Milan player.
Now that Chelsea have reportedly made their first contact with the club to sign the striker, it is only a matter of time before a formal bid is submitted.
