In a time where football has never been more marketable, Chelsea have announced a ‘football first’ by teaming up with Snapchat.
The club confirmed on their official website that the Blues had teamed up with the popular photo-based app to give fans a new way of showing their support for the club.
The new lens allows fans to virtually paint their face blue which will include the club’s badge on one side of their face.
Manchester United stole headlines over the last couple of weeks when it was announced that Paul Pogba was given his own emoji, it looks like Chelsea are following suit.
Social media is playing an increasingly predominant role in the way top clubs around Europe reach their fans, with the club becoming a global brand.
It can be used at Stamford Bridge, in the stands at games and also in the club shop or on a stadium tour. All fans need to do is add the club on the app.
