According to Spanish newspaper, Marca, Real Madrid are prepared to give up on signing Chelsea’s Eden Hazard to give Marco Asensio more game time.
Hazard, who scored in Chelsea’s fourth in their 4-2 FA Cup semi-final victory vs Tottenham, has been linked with Real Madrid for a few years now with interest hotting up this season.
However, they could be giving up their pursuit of the Chelsea wide man to give their youngster Asensio game time to develop under Zinedine Zidane.
The 21-year-old attacking midfielder joined Los Blancos in 2014 and has had various loan spells at his previous club, Mallorca and most recently, Espanyol.
He has scored nine and bagged three assists in 29 appearances across all competitions this season, which is a good record considering most of his appearances are from the bench with the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale, James Rodriguez and Isco all above him in the pecking order.

If the reports that Madrid are giving up on Hazard are true then this is great news for Chelsea. The Belgian has been pivotal in Chelsea’s title challenge this season and has arguably been the best player in the Premier League this season.
