Antonio Conte wants to add some dynamic attackers to his squad this summer and has reassessed his targets now that Romelu Lukaku is poised to join Manchester United.
One player Conte wants to bring to Stamford Bridge is Real Madrid attacking midfielder James Rodriguez, with the Blues said to be preparing a £52m bid for the playmaker.
That being said, Chelsea could also miss out on the Colombian as Liverpool are now being linked with a move for Rodriguez, along with the likes of Manchester United, Manchester City, PSG and Juventus.
Sport claim that his agent, Jorge Mendes, has called all the clubs mentioned above in regards to a move for Rodriguez and while they’re all keen, they’re unwilling to meet the €75m asking price just yet.
Zinedine Zidane has informed Madrid that he wants Rodriguez sold and for the deal to be wrapped up as soon as possible, which may see the La Liga champions reduce their asking price if no ones ready to splash the cash.
