Loftus-Cheek joins Palace as their first signing this summer under new manager Frank De Boer.
The youngster joins the Eagels after not getting much game time at Chelsea and the imminent arrival of Tiemoue Bakayoko from Monaco would move Loftus-Cheek further down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge.
A move to another Premier League club for a year would be good to help his development as he will get very regular game time at Selhurst Park in the 2017/18 campaign.
This is a great piece of business by Chelsea as they still have a great player on their book but playing regular football for a decent Premier League club in Crystal Palace and under a manager who has great experience as a player in De Boer which would further his development.
Loftus-Cheek has won the FA Youth Cup twice for Chelsea in 2011/12 and 2013/14. He has also won the Barclays Under 21 Premier League in 2013/14 and the UEFA Youth League in 2014/15.
He has also won two Premier Leagues with Chelsea but he didn’t play much in either campaign.
