Chelsea have been in the market for a new striker this summer after Antonio Conte decided that Diego Costa was surplus to requirements.
They had been linked with former striker Romelu Lukaku but he joined Manchester United for £75m. Borussia Dortmund front-man Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was another linked to the Blues, as was Andrea Belotti of Torino, who has an £88m release clause. However, it looks like Alvaro Morata is the man who’ll be leading the line at Stamford Bridge next year.

Morata has proven his worth in both La Liga and Serie A. In La Liga, during two spells at Real Madrid, the 24-year-old has made 63 appearances, scoring 25 times and assisting six. He has also made 63 appearances in Serie A for Juventus in-between his two spells at Real Madrid, he scored 15 and assisted 13 for the Italian giants.
Overall in Morata’s career, he has scored 70 and assisted 36 in 206 appearances which is a very good return, so there is no surprise that Chelsea are spending big money on him.
