According to the Telegraph, Chelsea and Tottenham could bring Ross Barkley in from Everton for just half of the asking price of £50m.
Barkley’s future at Everton has been in doubt this summer as the player does want a move away from Goodison this summer with Chelsea and Tottenham being heavily linked with the midfielder.
As well as wanting to leave, he may not get much game-time at Everton next season with the arrivals of Wayne Rooney and Davy Klaassen and the imminent arrival of Gylfi Sigurdsson. However, game-time at either Tottenham or Chelsea could be limited as well.
Playing for a bigger team than Everton such as the two mentioned could help him get a place in England’s squad for the 2018 World Cup in Russia which starts at the end of the new season.

Tottenham owner, Daniel Levy thinks he could get the midfielder for £25m, half of the asking price set by Everton, due to Ronald Koeman’s admission over the player wanting to leave and he only has a year left on his current deal. Chelsea could swoop in and pip Tottenham for Barkley’s services.
Chelsea are believed to be willing to offer a contract worth £100,00-a-week to Barkley, who scored six and assisted nine times in all competitions last season making 39 appearances.
