According to The Telegraph, Chelsea are determined in bringing in Arsenal winger Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain before the end of the summer transfer window.
Oxlade-Chamberlain’s future at Arsenal has come into doubt at Arsenal recently, with him only having a year remaining on his current deal with him not signing a new contract at The Emirates, amid interest from big clubs like Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea, due to him putting in amazing performances at right wing-back for Arsenal last season.
Chelsea have been in the market for competition for their current right wing-back, Victor Moses, as they look to increase their squad depth ahead of their return to the Champions League and their defence of the Premier League title.

In the same report, it mentions Chelsea’s pursuit of Danny Drinkwater from Leicester and also failing to sign Juventus left-back, Alex Sandro.
If Oxlade-Chamberlain does sign, he can play in central midfield as well as left-back, so he could be the answer for many of Chelsea’s squad depth problems for the current season.
The reported fee for Oxlade-Chamberlain is £35m, which in this market for a promising English player who has already proved his worth, is a pretty good deal for both parties.
However, there have been rumours of Oxlade-Chamberlain signing a new contract at The Emirates very soon, with manager, Arsene Wenger, adamant that the Englishman will not be sold before the transfer deadline.
