Chelsea have made a new and improved offer for Leicester’s Danny Drinkwater worth more than £30 million, with the deal being worth £27 million with various add-ons, according to Matt Law.
Twitter: Chelsea have made a new bid worth over £30m for Danny Drinkwater. Around £27m plus add-ons I’m told. Over to Leicester #cfc #lcfc (@Matt_Law_DT)
With the departure of Nemanja Matic and squad depth being needed in midfield at Chelsea as they look to defend their Premier League title as well as competing in the Champions League, the Blues have been in the market for a central midfielder.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Ross Barkley were linked with a move to the club, but the Arsenal man looks set to join Liverpool and Spurs leading the race for the Everton attacker.

Chelsea have had bids rejected for Drinkwater but with an improved bid, it would be hard for Leicester to reject after the player handed in a transfer request.
If Drinkwater is to leave Leicester for Chelsea, it would see him partner up with former teammate N’Golo Kante, who were both key in Leicester’s fairy tale title success in 2015/16.
