Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has revealed that he misses his native Italy in a very open and honest discussion regarding both his current situation and his future at and beyond Chelsea.
Speaking to Radio Anch’io Sport (via Football Italia), the former Italian national team manager has revealed his desire to return to his home country eventually:
I have a longing for Italy, that’s beyond any doubt
It’s not in my head to stay abroad for too long. It’s good to have beautiful experiences, but I intend to go back to Italy one day.

Without revealing how long “too long” might be, the Italian manager went on to discuss what the future might hold for him once he does leave Stamford Bridge:
China? No, absolutely not. Bundesliga? It’s always difficult to predict the future. Let’s just say that a coach is a temporary worker.
Conte managed five clubs in Italy, including Juventus, before taking the job as manager of the Italian national team, and then moving on to Chelsea in the summer of 2016.
He admitted that he still has work to do at Chelsea before he’d like to leave though:
It depends on the results, but there’s desire on my part to try to do the best I can, finishing one project and then finding the right one to continue. I miss Italy, that’s a fact
Still, this experience is helping me so much. I’d also like to become a sporting director in the future

The Italian also pointed out the lack of English managers in the country’s top flight at the moment:
Are we better than the English? There are practically no English managers in the Premier League
There are so many parts of the world here, but everyone here is good, prepared and among the best in the world
