Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has labelled Diego Costa as “under rated” ahead of the Spaniard’s move back to Atletico Madrid, and has said that he is happy with new boy Alvaro Morata’s impact in the absence of Costa from the Chelsea squad.
Coming via the Express, Belgian shot stopper Courtois has spoken of his friendship with Spanish international Diego Costa, who is to be unveiled as an Atletico Madrid player in the coming days:
He is a very good friend of mine. It will be nice to see him,
He is one of the nicest, funniest guys I know

Costa and Courtois played for Atletico Madrid together before meeting again at Chelsea; but Costa is all set to return to the Spanish capital, leaving a void in the Chelsea squad. However, Courtois thinks that Morata is doing a good job of filling his compatriot’s boots:
We have bought a new striker and he is doing well so we have to move on. As a friend I will miss Diego, and a player, but Alvaro is doing his job so we are happy
A striker lives off goals and he has already scored a few important ones

Courtois has underlined just how good he thinks Costa is, and his relief that the Spaniard will not be available for selection when Chelsea face Atletico Madrid in the Champions League this week:
Diego was an under-rated striker here in England. People paid too much attention to him being a little bully on the field rather than looking at his quality
I am happy that until New Year we will not have to face him
Chelsea travel to Atletico’s new stadium, the Wanda Metropolitano, on Wednesday night for their group stage fixture against the Spanish side.
