Antonio Conte has revealed to Sky Sports that rumours of his future are not impacting his players.
After heavy defeats to relegation-threatened Bournemouth and Watford, Chelsea head into their Monday night fixture against a similar calibre of team in the form of West Brom.
The defending champions are suffering a hangover following last season’s Premier League success, finding themselves fifth in the table after 26 games this time around.
Despite the poor form, Conte remains focused and dedicated to Chelsea and insists his future is not playing on his players’ minds.
Honestly I don’t think talk about my future can affect the players.
The Italian seemingly denied his team’s season has been a failure; saying:
We are talking about a team that is fourth in the league[before last weekends games], is preparing to face the game against Barcelona, we are in the FA Cup competition and we reached the semi-final of the Carabao Cup.
Despite Conte’s positivity, he will understand that recent Premier League form needs to be overturned.
After tonight’s fixture against West Brom, Chelsea play Barcelona, Manchester United and Manchester City in three of their next four games; a spell in which could make or break their season.
