Ross Barkley to be fit for Tottenham clash

Ross Barkley will be fit in time for Chelsea’s game at home to Tottenham Hotspur, a crucial game for the race for top four, according to Football London.

Barkley arrived from Everton in the January transfer window for £15m. He was kept out of the Toffees side in the first half of the season due to a reoccurring hamstring injury, which has followed him as he crossed the North-South Divide.

The Englishman has only played three times in all competitions for the Blues: the 2-1 loss to Arsenal in the Carabao Cup semi-final, the 3-0 Premier League win against Newcastle United and the loss to Bournemouth at home.

His new manager Antonio Conte said:

About Barkley, if you remember, before the game against City during the press conference, I said the player… we must have great patience with him. After a bad injury and a surgery in the muscular tendons, it’s not simple when you stay out for seven months to recover very quickly. He must have patience to wait for the right moment. We must have patience, the player and I.

Gareth Southgate has all but ruled out a chance of Barkley going to Russia for England in the World Cup this summer. However, he has the chance to try and help his new club win the FA Cup and get into the top four.

There are a lot of tough games coming up as the Blues try and secure these feats, which start on April Fools’ Day at home to rivals Spurs.
