Reports from CalcioMercato have speculated that Chelsea defender David Luiz could be on his way out of Stamford Bridge this summer, suggesting he could be on his way to Italy.
The defender is linked with a move to Serie A side Napoli, and the deal could potentially be a swap deal if Napoli are willing to let defender Kalidou Koulibaly go the opposite direction.
Luiz has not played for Chelsea since the 5th of February and has fallen out of favour with head boss Antonio Conte, who has replaced him with Andreas Christensen.
David Luiz has had a disappointing season, with injuries keeping him on the sideline for some time and he is unlikely to be part of the Brazil team for the World Cup in Russia.
Chelsea target Kalidou Koulibaly, is having a tremendous season with Napoli as they push Juventus for the Serie A title. Mauricio Sarri’s side are four points behind leaders Juventus with four games to go.
Antonio Conte has been linked with a move to Napoli, in another potential swap deal with Sarri but Rafael Benitez may be the favourite.
Benitez has been liked with a move back to his former club after keeping Newcastle in the Premier League and guiding them to the top half of the table.
His potential move could also have an impact on whether Koulibaly will be headed to Stamford Bridge or staying in Naples.
