Milan to hold talks with free agent Bernard amid Chelsea links

AC Milan have entered the race to sign free agent Bernard and will hold talks with the Brazilian.

According to Premium Sport, as cited on Sports Mole, Milan will discuss a move for the former Shakhtar Donetsk star after his contract at the club expired.

The player’s agent is due to fly to Italy for talks with the San Siro club.

Bernard has already drawn surprise links with a move to Chelsea, with the Blues missing out on Aleksandr Golovin.

Milan are looking to wheel and deal in the market after previous off-the-field worries involving Financial Fair Play rules.

The 25-year-old netted 10 times in all competitions last season and has a wealth of Champions League experience under his belt after his time in Ukraine.

Bernard spent five years at Shakhtar after coming through the ranks at Atletico Mineiro.

A host of clubs have been linked with moves for the Brazilian, with West Ham also touted as a potential destination.
