David Luiz has hailed Chelsea’s decision to splash the cash on young Spanish goalkeeper Kepa.
Speaking after Chelsea’s final pre-season clash with Lyon, as reported by Simon Johnson, Luiz believes that the deal to bring Kepa to London is a statement of intent from the Blues.
He is a great keeper, that is why everybody is talking about him. Does this show the ambition of the club? Yes of course. Chelsea is a big club.

Kepa is expected to arrive in London later today before officially completing his move to Stamford Bridge.
The Athletic Bilbao shot-stopper will join the club for a reported €80 million after impressing in La Liga.
A host of goalkeepers were linked with a move to London, including Jan Oblak and Jack Butland, but the Spaniard is to be Chelsea’s man between the sticks this season.
The 23-year-old is set to become the most expensive goalkeeper in world football and will replace Thibaut Courtois as Chelsea’s number one.
The Belgian is due to complete a move to Real Madrid after failing to report for pre-season training.
