Long-term Chelsea target Daniele Rugani looks set to put pen to paper on a new and improved contract at Juventus, according to a report from Calciomercato.
Rugani was a top target for the Blues throughout the summer transfer window and the player’s agent even confirmed that the club had submitted a sizable offer for his client.
Nevertheless, Juve resisted Chelsea’s proposals to sign Rugani and it now seems as though they are ready to tie the Italian international down to an extended contract.

Calciomercato’s report indicates that a move to Stamford Bridge would have been incredibly lucrative financially for Rugani, but he will still receive a significant pay rise when he pens a new deal at the Allianz Stadium.
Rugani is understood by Calciomercato to currently earn a salary worth around £1.6m per year. When he agrees to the terms of his new contract, however, it’s claimed that Rugani will earn approximately £2.6m per year.
Chelsea failed to sign a new central defender in the summer and could look elsewhere when the January transfer window comes around.
