Milinkovic-Savic subject to summer bid from PSG

Paris Saint-Germain are believed to have tried and failed to win the race to sign Sergej Milinkovic-Savic over the summer, according to his agent and former Chelsea striker,  Mateja Kezman.

Speaking to La Gazzetta dello Sport, as cited by Goal, Kezman reveals that the French champions were willing to pay the Serbian around €8 million per year to join the club.

While Kezman does not name PSG as the potential French club, their interest has been widely reported.

Many teams were after Sergej and we presented a couple of very interesting offers to Lazio. He could have earned much more elsewhere – in France they offered him €8 million. But, in the end, we accepted the club’s decision not to sell without any arguments. They have rejected all the offers and we never pushed for a transfer because he is happy in Rome.

The Lazio star was heavily linked with a move to Chelsea, Manchester United and Real Madrid throughout the summer, but no move materialised.

Milinkovic-Savic remains a Lazio player for this season at least, but speculation about his future continues to rise.

Chelsea were reportedly among the favourites to sign the player over the summer, with Maurizio Sarri and Antonio Conte both believed to be fans of the Serbian.
