Reports in Italy have revealed that the Serie A duo are Chelsea’s two targets for the January window.
Rugani was heavily linked with a move to London during the summer and the Blues could reignite their interest in the player during the new year.
It has been claimed that the player’s contract talks have broken down in Turin, offering Chelsea hope of completing a deal.
Maurizio Sarri wants to add to his defensive options in January, with Gary Cahill being tipped to leave the club.
Piatek is also attracting interest from a number of European clubs after his fine start to the season with Genoa.
After scoring eight in six games, a host of clubs are considering a January move to sign the striker.
Sarri has been short of options in the final third, with neither Olivier Giroud or Alvaro Morata proving to be prolific goalscorers for the club this season.
