Chelsea and Tottenham are both said to be monitoring Newcastle United defender Jamaal Lascelles, amid talk of a potential January swoop.
According to a report from Chronicle Live, both clubs are keeping tabs on the English defender.
Lascelles has been a long-term target for Chelsea and he’s been a player that the club has kept a very close eye on.
With Newcastle struggling in the Premier League this season, it has been suggested that he could be on the move in January.
Rafa Benitez will be desperate to keep hold of one of his star players but will be well aware that a big sale could give him the necessary funds to strengthen in the new year.
With the Magpies already looking destined for the drop, both Chelsea and Tottenham will be hoping to land the player on something of a cut-price deal.
However, with the player under contract until 2023, you can imagine that Newcastle will not allow the player to be sold on the cheap.
