Chelsea could be pipped to signing of Hirving Lozano

Chelsea may be pipped to the signing of exciting winger Hirving Lozano, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Blues have already reportedly fallen behind the Serie A club in the race for Fiorentina wide man Federico Chiesa, too.

Lozano caught the eye for Mexico at last summer’s World Cup and continues to impress for PSV Eindhoven this season, scoring 15 goals in 27 appearances.

The player’s agent, Mino Raiola, is confident of sealing a switch to Napoli, although they are thought to be demanding a discounted price for the 23-year-old.

A transfer wouldn’t take place until the summer, with a January move out of the question.

Chelsea were eyeing up Lozano as one of a number of attacking options, including Chiesa, with younger players required in that area of the pitch.

Recent reports have suggested they were preparing to make a bid for the Mexico star.

Napoli appear to be the current front-runners, but things can change quickly in the transfer market.
