Paredes agrees personal terms ahead of Chelsea move
Zenit midfielder Leandro Paredes has reportedly agreed personal terms over a January move to Chelsea.
According to the Mirror, a deal to bring the player to the Premier League is getting closer, with the Blues making an opening offer to sign the player.
Chelsea have identified the midfielder as a replacement for Cesc Fabregas, who left for Ligue 1 side Monaco last week.
The Blues were keen to get a deal wrapped for his replacement before he left, but it appears that Maurizio Sarri’s side are finally closing in on their man.
Both Paredes and Nicolo Barella were heavily linked with moves to Stamford Bridge, but the Italian midfield maestro looks set to remain in Serie A for the time being.
The report claims that Zenit themselves are looking to sign a replacement for Paredes before allowing him to leave for London.
The Russian side stand to make a profit on the player that joined the club for £21 million back in 2016.
