Chelsea have rejected an offer for Andreas Christensen, according to reports.
The Dane became a key part of Antonio Conte’s FA Cup winning side a year ago, but has certainly not enjoyed the same favour under new boss Maurizio Sarri.
Making 40 appearances in all competitions for the Blues last year, many had expected the 22-year-old to kick on in the 2018-19 campaign and stake a claim to one of the centre-back spots for the long-term future.
In late January, however, Christensen has appeared just 11 times for the West Londoners, including a solitary match in the Premier League.
Despite the tension between Sarri and the former Brondby man, it seems as though Chelsea aren’t ready to cut ties just yet.
Rejecting a transfer bid for the defender from Juventus, the Italian tactician may yet have plans for the Lillerod-native in his squad.
With a congested period of fixtures, Christensen could yet prove his worth to his new manager.
