Chelsea’s forgotten man Lucas Piazon is heading to the Serie A on loan until the end of the season.
According to the Daily Mail, Piazon is set to join Chievo on loan in a deal that does include the option to buy in the summer.
Piazon has been out in the cold since the start of the season after failing to agree on a move away from Stamford Bridge during the summer window.
The Brazilian was named on the bench against Tottenham in the second leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final, but he remains unlikely to feature for Maurizio Sarri during the second half of the season.
Piazon will now be tasked with helping Chievo avoid relegation to the Italian second tier, with the club nine points adrift at the bottom of Serie A.
With the option to buy included, the loan move looks set to bring an end to Piazon’s time in London, where he has failed to fulfil his once huge potential.
