Watford midfielder Roberto Pereyra has reportedly attracted interest from Chelsea in recent months, but Torino appear to be expressing the strongest desire to sign him.
The Argentine playmaker’s agent revealed that the Blues were among the clubs keen to land him during the January transfer window, but the Hornets remained firm and did not let him leave.
However, speculation surrounding the former Juventus man’s future has continued to emerge, with Calciomercato stating that Torino are still determined to sign him after reportedly pursuing him in the summer.
The report indicates that Pereyra would be open to swapping the Premier League for a return to Italy at the end of the season, but he is desperate to play in European competitions next term.
Torino are stated to be some way off Watford’s valuation of the player, but will also need to qualify for either the Europa League or the Champions League if they are to convince him to move back to Serie A.
Chelsea may be watching Pereyra’s situation with keen interest, with Walter Mazzarri’s side long-term admirers of the player.
