Bayern lining up summer move for Hudson-Odoi

Bayern Munich look set to pick up where they left off in their pursuit for Callum Hudson-Odoi this summer, after failing to strike a deal with Chelsea during the January transfer window.

According to the Daily Mail, the Bundesliga champions will come back in for his services once the season is over, and the arrival of Christian Pulisic from Borussia Dortmund might be enough to push a deal over the line.

Hudson-Odoi handed in a transfer request last month to try and push a move to the Allianz Arena through due to a lack of game-time of Maurizio Sarri, but the Blues blocked all offers.

Amidst the heavily-reported transfer saga, Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge revealed that one of the club’s directors, Hasan Salihamidzic had “fallen in love” with the 18-year-old’s quality.

This season, Hudson-Odoi has contributed to five goals in the six starts he’s made but hasn’t been a part of Sarri’s starting XI once in the Premier League so far.

Since breaking into the first team at the start of this term, he’s featured on the right wing 12 times but has regularly been overlooked for the more-experienced options of Willian or Pedro.

Many questions have been raised as to whether Hudson-Odoi would see an increase in game-time at such a European heavyweight like Bayern, but with Chelsea rejecting offers as high as £35 million, it’s clear the German club are keen to get him on board.
