Wolves lead Chelsea in the race for Felix
Wolverhampton Wanderers are keen to sign Joao Felix, who Chelsea reportedly sent scouts to watch, from SL Benfica this summer.
The Mirror claims that Nuno Espirito Santo has set his sights on an ambitious swoop for the 19-year-old, who has earned plenty of plaudits for his displays in Liga NOS.
Numerous clubs have courted Felix in recent times, and reports on Friday suggested that the Blues sent scouts to watch him in action as Benfica took on Sporting CP.
However, it seems they may need to accelerate their pursuit of the young attacking midfielder if their interest is concrete, with Wolves moving ahead in the race for his signature.
The Portuguese prospect has a contract at the Stadium of Light until 2023, indicating that he will not be prised away from his homeland cheaply.
This does not appear to have deterred the likes of Wolves, though, who are seemingly intent on beating prestigious clubs such as Chelsea to the signing of Felix.
