Sarri identified as possible replacement for Inter boss Spalletti

Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri has reportedly been lined up as a potential replacement for Inter Milan boss Luciano Spalletti.

According to claims from Italian news outlet Corriere della Sera, as cited by Calciomercato, the 60-year-old has been identified as one of the contingency plans in case there is a managerial departure at San Siro.

Inter have struggled to convince in Serie A this season, prompting scrutiny regarding Spalletti’s future at the club.

The Italian tactician has led his side to third place on the table, but they trail Juventus at the top by a massive 22 points.

This appears to have prompted Inter’s board into considering potential replacements for Spalletti, with his compatriot Sarri among those noted as options.

Chelsea themselves have struggled in the Premier League this season, and speculation has clouded their manager’s position at the club.

If he is sacked by the Blues at any time soon, it seems a return to Serie A would not be implausible, as Roma were linked with a move for Sarri earlier on Monday, too.
