Chelsea and Tottenham are set to battle it out for Inter’s Matias Vecino this summer, according to reports in Italy.
Italian outlet Tuttosport, as cited on Sport Witness, claim that both clubs are interested in signing the player.
Vecino is someone that Maurizio Sarri knows very well having worked with him at Empoli.
The Uruguayan midfielder was heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge last summer, but Sarri was unable to get his man.
Despite the concerns over his long-term future in London, it appears that the Italian is putting plans in place, should the club be given permission to sign players ahead of next season.
Tottenham fans will know all about Vecino, it was he who scored a late winner in the San Siro against the club earlier this season in a dramatic Champions League clash.
